A Christmas Conversation

This is Usagi.

Usagi is an interesting girl. I found her on Everything’s Blog, down at the bottom. I decided to have a conversation with her and see how it turned out. I have written the text down for you, so you can see what a stimulating conversationalist Usagi is.

Me: Hello.

Usagi: Hi there!

Me: This is ridiculous.

Usagi: You don’t say.

Me: Oh, but I do.

Usagi: Great. Where?

Me: What do you mean, where?

Usagi: Something, sorry that was an obscure remark.

Me: No, it wasn’t.

Usagi: Whoa, I thought it was!

Me: Well, it wasn’t.

Usagi: Well, that’s okay. I thought it was.

Me: By carbonate of soda, you’re dense.

Usagi: Will that accomplish your objective?

Me: You’re silly.

Usagi: No I am Usagi.

Me: Oh.

Usagi: Hmm.

Me: Is that all you have to say?

Usagi: Oh no I could go on talking for hours.

Me: Heaven help the listener.

Usagi: Not many people express themselves that way.

Me: No, probably not. Most people don’t stop to pass the time of day with you.

Usagi: Er. Oh, reall. Where do you get your ideas?

Me: …I don’t know. They just come over me. *rolls eyes*

Usagi: Me either.   Who, specifically?   Quite honestly, I wouldn’t worry myself about that.

Me: You have very long hair.

Usagi: What makes you think I have it?

Me: …it’s on your head.

Usagi: I don’t think I have seen it.

Me: That’s impossible.

Usagi: Why?

Me: I already told you, because the roots are attached to your scalp!

Usagi: Ooops I sent you the wrong question.   Good reason.  I have never heard about  it.

Me: This conversation has no point whatsoever.

Usagi: I was rather enjoying it.

Me: ARGH!

Usagi: Are you frustrated?

Me: FRUSTRATED!? I’M TALKING TO A PICTURE!

Usagi: What are you frustrated about?    Say something nice for me.

Me: *groan* Nice night for a coon hunt.

Usagi: Thank you for your kindness.

Me: Supercalifradulisticexpialidocious.

Usagi: Clever thinking.

Me: I didn’t make it up. My grandpa did.

Usagi: Why didn’t you do it? Your grandpa did it.

Me: I just said that. You answered your own question.

Usagi: What did you mean by  it?  That is ” Your grandpa did.”.   I like answering questions.

Me: Even if the answer doesn’t make sense?

Usagi: I hadn’t thought of that.

Me: Oh, well. Merry Christmas.

Usagi: That’s about it.   Merry Christmas to you too,  something.

Me: Something? My name’s Ëarwen.

Usagi: That was not very original.   Glad to know you,  Ëarwen.

Me: Yes, same here. Just the same, I gladly release myself from this, er, talk.

Usagi: Mmm.  I’m glad we agree,  Ëarwen.   I never noticed that similarity.

Me: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Usagi: A whole forest.

Me: WOW! I wasn’t expecting you to answer that!

Usagi: I’m glad your impressed,  Ëarwen.   Perhaps I misunderstood. What were you?

Me: What was I? I was once a star in my father’s eye.

Usagi: It’s self-explanatory.   And then what happened to you?

Me: I was born about sixteen and a half years ago.

Usagi: Thank you for telling me your birthday,  Ëarwen. I will remember  it.

Me: You’re starting to creep me out, in all honesty.

Usagi: Actually it started a while ago.  You think I am  creep you out in all honesty.

Me: Uh, how are your friends?

Usagi: Aw.  They are fine as far as I know.

Me: What colors are in a rainbow?

Usagi: It depends because  in a rainbow come in a veriety of colors.

Me: Actually, the colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. I remember that from years ago, when I read it on the back of a cereal box.

Usagi: I have never heard about  it.   Who or what is  years ago when you read it on the back of a cereal box?

Me: Yes, well. Bye! Merry Christmas!

Usagi: This was not a yes or no question.  Well what?   Bye.   Merry Christmas to you too,  Ëarwen.

Me: Wait, one more question. What is Christmas about?

Usagi: I’m waiting.  One what?   Hmm, I think  it is about humans.

Me:

26And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

28And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

36And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

37For with God nothing shall be impossible.

38And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

 39And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

40And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

41And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

42And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

43And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

45And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

46And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

And after I told her that… she didn’t know what to say. ^_^

Merry Christmas!

  1. Interesting. 🙂 I asked her what the meaning of Christmas was, and I got this reply:
Good semantic question. A holiday on December 25 celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

I guess she remembered what you told her. 🙂

  2. I tried her out, and I confused her to a point where she kept saying: ‘I do not understand, will you refrase your question?’ Like five times she did that 😉

Hey! You should post and tell us what you got for Christmas!! 🙂

  3. Oh, and I also asked her, before she froze up the first time I did it (before I was recording the convo) something like “who was Jesus” and she was like “I don’t know. Who or what was Jesus?” So I told her he was God, and she told me, and I quote- “Only God is god.” It was hylaramus. 😛 I then proceeded to try to explain the trinity to her. She froze up. XD

Got something to say?
